| Opinion: | The Citation Mustang is a new aircraft and was Cessna's response to the spate of new "Very Light Jets" announced as the new millennium dawned. In contrast to some of them, the Mustang is very much a real aeroplane. The cabin has four seats arranged in a club configuration. Similar in size to an executive people carrier or mini-van, it is very comfortable for two passengers but with four adults it might start to feel a little cramped on longer journeys. As with all private jets, for maximum comfort it is best to specify an aircraft with more seating capacity than actually required. The Mustang's trump card compared to the larger jets is undoubtably its economy, which translates into very favourable charter rates. On longer journeys a faster cruising alternative would bring a reduction in journey time, which might count against it for time-sensitive business passengers. However the Mustang is a perfect aircraft for leisure travel, or for a business trip for two to near European destinations such as Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam. |
